Summary

I am a very experienced nurse with over 30 years experience, most of which has been as a nursing sister. I am extremely competent in my role, and have high standards of care which ensures my patients have a quality inpatient stay, improving their patient experience. My input is sought by my current manager, when she wants another point of view, valuing my opinions. I have experience of attendance management and other human resources issues. I am organised and efficient and would be able to marry the joint role, of senior nurse for the area, and managing the administrative areas. I have a good relationship with work colleagues of all grades.

Marital status

I am married with 3 adult daughters and a granddaughter

Work Experience

LTHT

sister

May 2014 - Now

I have been a Band 6 sister on J20 for seven years, in that time I have learned a lot about infectious Diseases.

I have worked through both the Ebola outbreak and the current COVID crisis. I feel that my role is an intermediary role between the ward manager and the remainder of the staff, giving support to both. This role helps me with the more managerial role and the care of patients. I am in a position to ensure the smooth running of the ward, and the wellbeing of staff and patients.

LTHT

Senior Sister

May 2004 - March 2014

I was a Band 7 for several years, managing my ward well. At the later stage of my time, I was not managing well, and my manger was not supportive, this in line with home stresses, which she did not take into account, led to capability action, and a final voluntary agreement that I would step down from my role, which was the best thing for me and my mental health.
