Heading the Women Empowerment Focus Area which focused on enhancing women’s socio-economic empowerment focused on Climate Change (Climate Smart Agriculture) and Fish Cage Farming (Aquaculture Anchor Cluster Model) to enhance women's meaningful participation in Aquaculture and other food security-related value chains for sustainable socio-economic livelihoods.

Key Achievements:

· Supported technological advancement in women’s businesses by providing technological equipment to support cage farming and increase fish production i.e., solar freezers for fish preservation, fish feeds processing machines, and Motor boats for fish feeding and transportation of fish.

· Supported the development of a gender-sensitive, responsive Beach Management Unit (BMU) policy and service charter for the four beaches which has led to the inclusion of women in the BMU leadership

· Conducted a Market feasibility study to assess and analyze the aquaculture sector market trends

· Supported the development of a resource mobilization strategy for program work continuity

· Supported development of organization Strategic work plan, 2023/25 – including focus area concept note, work plan, and budget

Continuous management of grant budgets and working closely with donors & relevant partners to strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives.

Worked within the Programs department whose focus was on advancing gender equality through research and action on women's human rights. Implemented:

· She Leads a project designed to amplify voices of girls and young women in Kenya. Supported by Terre des Hommes & Ministry of Foreign Affairs Netherlands.

· Amkeni Wakenya project designed to engage CSOs & duty bearers on Policy and legislative development, enforcement, and monitoring of human rights and access to justice. Supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

· Adolescents & Young People (AYP) Program designed to establish preventive Program for Adolescents and Youth aged 10-24 years in and out of school in Machakos County. Supported by Global Fund (GF) and Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS).

· Right Here Right Now (RHRN) project which contributed to strengthening young people’s SRHR across the globe. Supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Netherlands.

Engagement of Men to Address Social Norms that Promote GBV among Women and Girls project conducted in Kajiado County. Supported by Grand Challenges Canada (GCC).

Key Achievement included:

• Grant management & resource mobilization through proposal development.

• Conducted research & mapping exercises to identify gaps and challenges to inform approaches & strategies in program implementation for practice conducted

• Developed a centralized Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system, work plans, & budgets

• Established partnerships with stakeholders (the Ministry of Public Service, Youth, and Gender, Kenya Law Reform Commission, and Judiciary) to develop PADV rules and instructions

• Contributed to development of UPR shadow report and Kenya School Health Strategy

• Developed policy briefs, position papers, & popular versions of policies

TICH is an international research and training institution where I worked within the Community Health and Development Department as an Assistant M&E Officer. Some of the projects implemented included:

· Get up Speak Out (GUSO) project aimed at ensuring all young people fully enjoy their SRH right. Supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Netherlands and the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance.

· Amplified change structured around determining Effective Parent-Adolescent Communication Methods on Adolescent Sexual Behavior in Butere Sub-County, Kenya

Key Achievements

• Ensured meaningful youth participation and engagement in decision-making spaces

• Incorporated youth as key agents of change in governance, comprehensive sexuality education, service delivery, advocacy, and research for them to realize their full potential.

• Conducted operational research including (i) Meaningful Youth Participation (MYP) to identify SRHR issues affecting young people (10-24yrs) and young adults (25 to 30yrs) and strategize on how best to incorporate solutions based on findings of the research and (ii) Amplified Change was structured around Determinants of Effective Parent-Adolescent Communication Methods on Adolescent Sexual Behavior in Butere Sub-County, Kenya

• Implemented Community Health Strategy aimed at disseminating The Kenya Essential Package of Health at the Community level

• Developed tools for data capturing, reporting, and documenting progress and held review and feedback meetings for joint learning

• A Graduate Assistant who supported lectures, exam setting and marking for the following courses: Monitoring & Evaluation and Program Development, Health systems, and Participatory Planning

Worked within the Faculty of Health Sciences focused on supporting the National Government and International community to develop a Health workforce in evolving context for Sustainable Development. Some of the projects I implemented included:

• Unite for Body Rights (UFBR) project designed to engage women and men, girls and boys, and marginalized groups to make safe and informed decisions on SRHR in all their diversities. Supported by SIMAVI Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Netherlands and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance

• Access, Knowledge & Services (ASK) project designed to capture what young people (aged 10–24 years) want, and what young people. Supported by SIMAVI Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Netherlands and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance

Key Achievements

• Established collaborations and partnerships with the Ministry of Health to jointly support the delivery of Community Health Services through the support of Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), Community Health Committees (CHC) a governing body in charge of day-to-day CHVs and Community Health activities, and Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) were the link between the community and the Link Health facilities.

• Established youth friendly centers - safe spaces where youths could openly discuss SRH issues affecting them and capacity building of service providers on youth friendly services

• Conducted dialogues, table talks and action days to create awareness on SRHR & Gender Equality and Social Inclusion

• Strengthened the capacity of young people through Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), provision of gender-sensitive SRHR information, education, and skills building

Aimed at enhancing meaningful participation of women in the Aquaculture and other food security-related value chains for sustainable socio-economic livelihoods. Supported by the Open Society Fund (OSF) & Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA).

Aimed at enabling and enhancing Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to engage as key agents of governance and development in contributing to gender equality and women’s empowerment in Samburu & Marsabit Counties. Supported by the European Commission working as a cohesive consortium between AMREF Health Africa as the Lead Partner and three Sub-Partners: Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA), Echo Network Africa (ENA), and Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) to deliver on its mandate.

Designed to ensure girls and young women’s perspectives are included in gender-responsive laws and policies and societal norms and practices by increasing the influence of decision-making king in formal and informal institutions in Kenya. Supported by Terre des Hommes & Ministry of Foreign Affairs Netherlands.

Focused on enhancing CSO engagement with County and National level duty bearers on Policy and legislative development, enforcement, and monitoring of human rights and access to justice. The specific focus was on “Accelerating achievements of the Protection against Domestic Violence Act in Kenya”. Supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Majorly denoted as a prevention Program for Adolescents and Youth aged 10-24 years in and out of school in Machakos County. Supported by Global Fund (GF) and Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS).
