Heading the Women Empowerment Focus Area which focused on enhancing women’s socio-economic empowerment focused on Climate Change (Climate Smart Agriculture) and Fish Cage Farming (Aquaculture Anchor Cluster Model) to enhance women's meaningful participation in Aquaculture and other food security-related value chains for sustainable socio-economic livelihoods.

Key Achievements:

· Supported technological advancement in women’s businesses by providing technological equipment to support cage farming and increase fish production i.e., solar freezers for fish preservation, fish feeds processing machines, and Motor boats for fish feeding and transportation of fish.

· Supported the development of a gender-sensitive, responsive Beach Management Unit (BMU) policy and service charter for the four beaches which has led to the inclusion of women in the BMU leadership

· Conducted a Market feasibility study to assess and analyze the aquaculture sector market trends

· Supported the development of a resource mobilization strategy for program work continuity

· Supported development of organization Strategic work plan, 2023/25 – including focus area concept note, work plan, and budget

· Amkeni Wakenya project designed to engage CSOs & duty bearers on Policy and legislative development, enforcement, and monitoring of human rights and access to justice. Supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

· Adolescents & Young People (AYP) Program designed to establish preventive Program for Adolescents and Youth aged 10-24 years in and out of school in Machakos County. Supported by Global Fund (GF) and Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS).

· Right Here Right Now (RHRN) project which contributed to strengthening young people’s SRHR across the globe. Supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Netherlands.

Engagement of Men to Address Social Norms that Promote GBV among Women and Girls project conducted in Kajiado County. Supported by Grand Challenges Canada (GCC).

· Get up Speak Out (GUSO) project aimed at ensuring all young people fully enjoy their SRH right. Supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Netherlands and the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance.

· Amplified change structured around determining Effective Parent-Adolescent Communication Methods on Adolescent Sexual Behavior in Butere Sub-County, Kenya

Key Achievements

  • Ensured meaningful youth participation and engagement in decision-making spaces

  • Incorporated youth as key agents of change in governance, comprehensive sexuality education, service delivery, advocacy, and research for them to realize their full potential.

  • Conducted operational research including (i) Meaningful Youth Participation (MYP) to identify SRHR issues affecting young people (10-24yrs) and young adults (25 to 30yrs) and strategize on how best to incorporate solutions based on findings of the research and (ii) Amplified Change was structured around Determinants of Effective Parent-Adolescent Communication Methods on Adolescent Sexual Behavior in Butere Sub-County, Kenya

  • Implemented Community Health Strategy aimed at disseminating The Kenya Essential Package of Health at the Community level

  • Access, Knowledge & Services (ASK) project designed to capture what young people (aged 10–24 years) want, and what young people. Supported by SIMAVI Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Netherlands and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance

Key Achievements

  • Established collaborations and partnerships with the Ministry of Health to jointly support the delivery of Community Health Services through the support of Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), Community Health Committees (CHC) a governing body in charge of day-to-day CHVs and Community Health activities, and Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) were the link between the community and the Link Health facilities.

  • Established youth friendly centers - safe spaces where youths could openly discuss SRH issues affecting them and capacity building of service providers on youth friendly services

  • Conducted dialogues, table talks and action days to create awareness on SRHR & Gender Equality and Social Inclusion

  • Strengthened the capacity of young people through Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), provision of gender-sensitive SRHR information, education, and skills building
