Zhanat Tolkyn

We formed the "WE" Creative Department and together we designed unique and iconic stickers for the University and our faculty and staff. We also designed other peripherals for the University such as mugs, t-shirts, and badges. However, this was canceled due to staff changes.

As a graphic designer, I have learned to juggle multiple projects at the same time and meet tight deadlines, rationalize workflow and prioritize tasks; understand the client's needs and vision, communicate effectively and listen actively, and make sure they are satisfied with the final deliverables.

During the online period, I was responsible for overseeing members' video shoots, finding footage for shoots, and resolving issues between members and the president (for example, I was responsible for resolving things that the president was not comfortable talking about in person); offline, I was responsible for managing the Kpop department, including choreographing dances, music editing, choosing costumes, organizing events, conducting club recruitment, and selecting new members.

During my tenure, I learned to effectively delegate tasks and recognize the strengths of each team member, helping us create a cohesive and efficient team; conflicts occasionally arose between members, and I facilitated open discussions, resolved conflicts in an amicable manner, and maintained a harmonious atmosphere, ensuring that each member felt valued.

My experience as Vice President of the Dance Club has allowed me to combine my passion for dance with my leadership and organizational skills, and it has been incredibly fulfilling to witness the growth of our members as dancers and as individuals, while contributing to the vibrant dance culture on campus.

During my senior year of universety in preparation for my senior project, I took advantage of my two months of free time to apply for an office clerk position on the light rail project. Here I learned how to process documents in a planned manner, get bills reimbursed on time, and how to complete my work efficiently. It was a rewarding work experience.

As a ui&ux designer, I was responsible for the entire project, including logo design, color decisions, and web page typography.
