During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, I had the opportunity to work at Guangxi Weixiang Machinery Co., Ltd. where I was responsible for assisting the company in its digital transformation efforts. Specifically, I helped the finance department to centralize the management of consumables data and logistics information into the ERP system.
During my internship, I developed a tool using Python to assist finance personnel in converting data from different formats into the required format for the ERP system. This significantly increased the efficiency of finance personnel and reduced the likelihood of errors. In addition to technical skills, this experience also taught me valuable communication skills as I needed to work closely with factory workers, finance personnel, and company clients.
Furthermore, my time at Guangxi Weixiang Machinery Co., Ltd. also allowed me to become familiar with the operation and usage of ERP systems, providing me with hands-on experience in implementing digital transformation projects. I was able to work closely with cross-functional teams, gain valuable insights into the implementation process, and learn about the importance of collaboration in achieving business objectives.
Overall, my internship experience at Guangxi Weixiang Machinery Co., Ltd. was both rewarding and challenging. It allowed me to develop my technical skills, hone my communication and collaboration skills, and gain valuable insights into the complexities of digital transformation projects.
